Hiya everyone! I hope you've all had a spectacular week! Even though I just emailed this past Wednesday it still feels like forever since I've been able to hear from you all. So this week was pretty rough. We had 11 appointments fall through. That's right, ELEVEN. Ahh. So tough. We meet these incredible people on the street who ask all of the right questions and are so interested and seem so solid about learning more but then they never show up and never give us a ring back. Super disappointing. But all is well!! The success is in the invitation!!

Which comes out of a tree
That makes it a plant
Therefore, chocolate counts as salad!

Funny Moment
Alright I have a few to share this week! The first was one that was a lot of funny and sort of embarrassing for me but everyone else laughed which means it must have been at least somewhat funny. But we had our Mission Activity day on May 22 and I can't remember if I explained much about it.. and if I have then I am SO SORRY for being repetitive. But I'll just share it again anyways haha We did a talent show for past of the Activity and somehow or another word got around the mission field pretty fast that I could laugh like Spongebob. WUT. yeah I don't really understand either. And then for those of you who know me pretty well and maybe even those of you who don't know me well at all.. I can do this noise that you make by saying the word "girl". Anyways, I can do this noise to different tunes and I've been told that if the minions were to sing, this is what they would sound like. Dead useful talents, right? Basically when I get home I'll just earn money by being the entertainment for children's birthday parties. Apparently they love it haha So I got roped into doing that for the talent show and I just did a couple of disney songs and then laughed like spongebob. Nothing spectacular.. a bit embarrassing but hey, we're all missionaries so any form of entertainment we love :)
And this past weekend was Stake Conference like I said in my previous email but I forgot to mention the little gift that I had received haha I was standing out in the hallway greeting people from the stake who were coming in and then this boy, I think he was either 16 or 17, walks up to me and hands me this pink origami flower he made. I must of looked completely caught off guard because I blurted something out and he said "I really like your smile. It's beautiful." And I said thanks and then he just walks off. haha later a youth from my ward came up and told me that I was supposed to smell it. He had apparently sprayed cologne on it haha So yeah, that gave all of the surrounding missionaries a good laugh for the day!
Miracle Moment
Ahh. The miracle this week was so good!! Several weeks ago.. I think it might have actually been my second week in the field. Sister Nelson and I met a man on the street named Rado. He didn't speak English very well but we gave him a pass along card with our number on it if he ever wanted to learn english or more about the gospel. We had tried to get into contact with him since then but nothing ever came of it.
The other night we were on our way home at about 19:50 riding the bus when we receive a call and behold! It was Rado!! He wanted us to meet him right then but we couldn't so we set up and appointment to meet him the next day. He just kept saying how he was ready to learn more! So exciting!!! So then Thursday afternoon we head over to his flat to teach him and he is so good! Such a sweet and humble man. It was hard for him to communicate- he understands us but he has a hard time communicating his thoughts in english. But as we were teaching him his flat mates came in and sat down for the lesson too!! Damon spoke English better and so he was able to help translate for us. So we taught them and then set up an appointment for the following day where we met two more of his flat mates/friends!! Ahh so incredible and they are such a humble hard working people. LOVE IT.
Foods and Words
So when I first came to England I realized that everyone calls bathrooms toilets. So that was weird to get used to haha Well anyways, as we would walk around town I would notice signs outside of buildings with the words "TO LET" on them. I figured maybe they had just al forgotten the letter "I" and the signs just showed where the toilets were. BUT "To Let" actually means to rent or to lease!! Weird haha at least that problem was solved. And there are NO public restrooms. So that's rough when you're walking around all day as a missionary... haha
Oh! And they pronounce their "z" as "Zed" and so for a pedestrian crossing they call it a zebra crossing. BUT because we're in England they pronounce the word zebra as "zedbra". weird. I know. ha
Weekly Update
Well. We still walk a million miles everywhere! haha But it's fun to see the different areas of England. Even if your feet are swollen...
Sister Nelson and I woke up Saturday feeling pretty sick and then after our morning studies I just felt miserable. So I laid down because I was in so much pain and then just passed out for a good two hours. It was nice to get some rest but I was so sick that it just left me even more exhausted haha Anyways, we're working hard and it's still as awkward as ever to knock on doors and stop people in the street. But hey! This is a message of hope and happiness that they could be searching for!!
Love and miss you all!!!
