I am so sorry! This email is going to be seriously lacking... and shorter than the time that England was in the World Cup.
Alright.
Sorry.
But I had to.. haha
I'm sad that England lost, (because they're my country too!) but that means that I don't have to worry about knocking on someones door while there's a game going and risk getting yelled at by a very upset footballer.. ha
Weekly Update
I can see the work here truly progressing! We have talked to so many people and have been able to find some truly prepared souls. We are currently teaching about 4-5 people who want to be baptised! It's incredible! They want so desperately to have a relationship with their Heavenly Father and to have the gift of the constant companionship with the Holy Ghost. It is such a blessing to be able to help these people see that they are all children of a Heavenly Father who loves them and wants them to all return home to live with Him.
I think Saturday was one of the worst days.. if I hadn't already known that England had lost in the world cup I would have said it was that day haha EVERYONE we tried to talk to just shut us down! Talk about a day of persecution... it was really strange just how much rejection we were receiving. BUT blessed are they who face persecution! For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
That's not the exact wording of the scripture.. but I kept thinking that and remembered that even the Savior, Jesus Christ, faced persecution. And He was the perfect teacher!
I just know that there is someone out there for Sister Clawson and I to teach and to find. Someone out there is looking for a way to change their life and to find that peace and happiness that the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bring them. And it's our job to find them!!
Goodbyes
We said goodbye to our Mission President and his wife, President and Sister Preston. I love them!! I was so blessed to have served with them for these past three months. They did so much for the work in this area and have helped me to recognize the simple power of a smile.
I am so excited to meet and get to know President and Sister Ulrich! We are going to see so many miracles in the area here in Crewe and in the entire England Manchester Mission!!
This email like I said, will be pretty short. There was so much that happened and then again not much different... ha
And I also left my journal at my flat with all of the events of the previous week written in it.. so that's also why there won't be much on this. With all of the things that we need to remember I have to write it down to recall it and well I don't have it on me therefore I can hardly remember anything that happened #journalprobs
I love you all! And I think about and pray for you daily. England is absolutely brilliant! It feels like my home. I love the people here, the food, the language. the diversity.
And I think most of all, I have loved finding and building my relationship with my Heavenly Father. Long after my mission is done and gone, I will be able to take that with me and will forever be able to call upon Him for my needs and worries, thank Him for my blessings and my trials, and gain that comfort and strength to get through anything that life may throw at me.
Loads of love from England,
Sister Reed
