Really though. I have no idea where I would be without the hoover. Bug flying at your face while you're trying to study? There's a hoover for that?
Dropped some food on the floor but you have no paper towels to wipe it up? There's a hoover for that too. Oh, it's attack of the spiders round 4? Well, there is a nice, shiny, loud, and perfetly good hoover for that.
Spiders have met their match with me. Well, with the vacuum. But same thing.
My life has been saved on multiple occaisions by the hoover and so for that, I dedicate this opening paragraph to the hoover.
Miracles!
Well, I would say that the biggest miracle this week was Sarah's baptism. But I'll save that story for the spot that actually says " Sarah's Baptism".
I can't remember if I have already shared this one or not... and I am using a wierd version of internet explorer that makes my webpage look all funky. I don't know what that really has to do with what I just said.. but basically I don't want to go look it up to see if I've already shared the miracle haha #lazyfingers
But anyways, about 2 months ago we met a girl named kacey walking down the street and we tried to talk to her but she was completeely uninterested. So we left it at that. And exactly two months later to the day, we go to our friend's nephew's birthday party. And lo and behold who should walk through the door with their two year old son? Maria!!
No, I was kidding. It was Kacey! I just wanted to make sure you were paying attention :) But anyways, she walks in and we go and talk to her and she totally remembered us! We found oout that her little boy was having his birthday party on the following monday and so we offered our help to bake some little fairy cakes (cupcakes). BUT then she invited us back to not just make food but to actually teach her a little bit about who we are and what we do. So we taught her the Plan of Salvation. Turns out, her dad passed away about 3 years ago and she never believed that she would see him again until we taught her the Plan. She was so happy and you could just see the warmth in her eyes as she thought about the idea of hugging her dad again. THIS IS WHY I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!
Awkward Moments
Umm. well, there are a lot of them.
But there was this one time when we were driving home from a fireside and there was all of this roadwork in England they use roundabouts everywhere so well long story short we went around this roundabout like 6 times before we found the right turn off. I'm prestty sure that was the longest run-on sentence ever. Who needs punctuation anyways, right?
Well, every time we got off the roundabout on the wrong road we would have a bout a 15 mintue drive to get back onto it and so you can imagine about the third time doing it that we would be getting pretty peeved. But hey! 6th times a charm right?
It was just awkwawrd because we were running late and we had one of our investigators with us and we just kept going around... more funny than awkward. Except that none of us knew what we were doing haha
Baptism!!
Sarah is my hero. Quite literally. I just love her so much! She has become one of my best friends and I am so so so happy that I know her!! I don't think that there is anyone who has faced more opposition towards amkinga right choice before I met sarah. She has been investigating the church for about a year now and she was the one who sought it out! She found it by watching a family on youtube and found out that they were Mormon! So she began to look into it and then she showed up to church one sunday in Wales where she was attedning University. Anyways, it has been a long battle for her to find her testimony and to tell her parents abut her decision. to be baptised. She has so much strength and couorage.. things have been thrown at her right and left trying to get her to not take this step of faith and she has stuck it out through it asll and she was finally baptised on Saturday August 30!! It was really simple but she felt the spirt and immediately afterwards all of the stress and tension and worry that had been weighing her down was lifted from her. She felt the relief that baptism can bring. It was incredible to have been a part pof her journey to finding th etruth and I just now that we are going to be friends for the rest of our lives.
Quote of the Week
"Why do I not hate it? I feel like I am in the Hunger Games!" ~Sarah when she changed into her baptism clothes
"Our miracle is super exciting. I know my voice doesn't sound like it, but that's just my monotone voice" ~Elder Smith
Food/Words
Custard. It's kind of like vanilla pudding... ind of. But not really. And you put it over all of your desserts. Actually that was an exaggeration. But it's really good haha as for the words... I think I said this last week but I can't really tell what's American and what's English any more :( ha but I'll keep my ears open for those few that slip through!
