So this past friday was exactly one year since I opened my call to serve in England.

I can't believe that it's already been a year! Wow the time just goes.

I feel as though I've been through a life time and back, learning and experiencing some of the hardest times and the best of miracles.

I have been so blessed.

Especially in the spirit of Thanksgiving I am so grateful for everything that the Lord has given to me. These past 7 and a half months haven't been a sacrifice at all... when I look back at how much I have learned and how far I've come I realise just how much the Lord has actually given to me.

Definitely not a sacrifice.

Well, anyway, we're short on email time this week because we're going out to see Runcorn castle!

Or what's left of it at least haha so I'll just include a few short things and then I'll have to sign off!

Miracles

So we're teaching Adele and last sunday we had taught her the word of wisdom. She has been smoking for as long as she can remember and has at least 10 cups of tea a day! So we knew it would be hard for her. We each decided to give up something with her. My companion gave up chocolate (huge mistake) and I chose to give up popping my knuckles. Yes mum, I'm going to try. It's been a long 10 years but hey! It's never too late, right? haha

So Adele said she would live it! We met with her again I think it was thursday night and she told us witha big smile on her face that she hadn't had a single cup of tea! I think my jaw dropped.

Not that I didn't have faith in her, I just knew how difficult it would be. But she said she was determined to do it!! I couldn't believe the amount of faith that she was showing. It is such an example to me that if we trust the Lord and lean on Him.. then truly, we can do ALL things!!!

UPDATE ON THE WORK!

Well, we did a lot of knocking doors this week. It was fun... expecially in the rain haha I think I've given up on an umbrella because well, you're just going to get wet regardless. But it was fun :) We met so many nice people! Even those who were of other faiths were so kind and we had so many good conversations.

I just want everyone to hear about the gospel!

The ward is all into missionary work. They're inviting their friends and colleagues and hey! You know what you could do? Post something online and see if anyone likes it! Then invite them to learn more :) It's that simple! And there are so many good mormon messages online and quotes from general conference. #sharegoodness people! :)

Funny moments

So. On Bonfire night sister warren and I arrived at the chapel earlier than the others to play sports and so we had some free time. Well... there's this really long hallway right down the middle and these super prime rolley chairs in the clerks office.

Do I need to go on?

Obviously the only logical thing to do would be for us to propel each other down the hall at top speed until everyone else arrived.

I feel as though I've got some pretty good experience with it and so we developed a system. I would stare at the floor keeping the rolley chair in between the middle lines and if the chair was going another direction sister warren would say to stop! Or something...

Well, as we were booking it down the hall instead of saying something that would tell me to stop she was screaming for joy and then reached out for the wall which completely through off our balance and we hit the wall and I flew forward, face planting into the chair. I have nice battle wound too.

We're children, I know.

Awkward moment

Something was wrong with me this week. Seriously. It was probably because I hit my head a little too hard on the rolley chair.

But anyway... we knock on this door and are talking to this lady who is seriously one of the nicest people I've ever met. She's a real strong catholic and we were just having the nicest chat. We ask her at the end if we could just leave her with a prayer for her and her family and she said of course! So we bow our heads and as I begin to pray she suddenly speaks up and says' "in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost..." And so for some reason I just start to carry on and I begin the prayer saying "In the name of Jesus Christ..." She had no clue of course that I just completely messed it up but then it threw me off for the whole rest of the prayer and to be honest I have no clue what I said next haha

Quotes of the Week

"I was just having a big internal debate about whether or not we needed to sing more!" ~Sister Warren

"I want a girl... but it depends on what she looks like" ~Danielle (age 9) discussion about having children

"The size of your cake is not determined by the size of your whisk" ~Brother Speed

"I'll always be nanny Linda!"

"Well, unless you change your name to Ross.."

Also, because they don't have Thanksgiving here, Christmas is in full swing!! HALLELUJAH!!

CHIPPY. That is fish and chips. With lots of vinegar and salt. The end.
