So this week has been pretty crazy what with having to pack up everything and move to the biggest city I've ever lived in as well as into a new flat with 3 other sisters... well. You can say I'm a bit overwhelmed.

Also. I feel old.

Today I am turning 10 months old.

Yeah

10 months ago I hopped onto a plane and flew to England! CRAZY. Where is the time?

Anyway, that's not what really makes me feel old (and I mean mission old)

What makes me feel old is that there are four of us in the flat. I'll tell you the Names, where they're from, and how long they've been on a mission for.

Sister Gjikaj is my companion. She's from Albania and she has been on her mission for a month and a half. So I am finishing training her.

Then there is Sister Conologue. Despite her foreign and exciting sounding last name.. she's actually from America! She's from Massachusetts and has been on her mission for 3 months.

Then her companion is Sister Schubert. She's from Germany and has been on her mission for 2 weeks.

Now we do the math... yeah! I've been out for twice as long as the three other sisters all put together!

I feel old.

BUT! Our flat is SO much fun! We're all so different and have such different backgrounds it's the best! There aren't really too many 4 sister flats and so this is pretty rare. And I don't think they've ever had 4 Sisters serving in the YSA before! So it's been a blast to work so closely together and to all learn from each other.

So there is this road. Called Oxford Road. And it is known as the busiest bus route in all of Europe and it runs right through the heart of the Universities in Manchester! And THAT is where we go and talk to people. Our Church building is right on that road and so we like to meet people on the street and then we bring them in for a chapel tour. IT'S SO MUCH FUN!

But we meet the craziest of people. They're from all around the world coming to study and work and it's fun just to talk to people our own age.

Well, one night we were walking and it was raining. I approached this student and started talking to him. He'd only been in Manchester for three days! Hey, me too!! So it turns out he's from New Jersey! But originally from China!

We talk to him all about the church and invite him to look at our building. We start walking back when he mentions that he was just on his way to dinner... well Sister Gjikaj really doesn't like fast food and so our options were McDonalds, Subway, Or this Chinese place called Red Chili. We go for the Chinese.

It was this super nice sit down place with traditional Chinese foods... I was half tempted to order the frog legs.

Anyway, Barty... that's his name... was so nice! He asked about every question under the sun and we told him just about everything I've learned in the past 21 years of my life. I had a headache so I can't even imagine what he was feeling....

So we met him on the street, had dinner with him, then we had a tour of the building. It was SO great. ha life is crazy when you're a missionary :)

Hmm... well other than that. My week has been insane and I will email more details and more interesting things later!

And we're going to a museum today so I'll send pictures of that next week :)

Funny Quotes

"Sister Gjikaj, how do you exercise in the morning?"

"Well, I open the eyes, and then I close the eyes..."

"You just have to follow your instincts on that one Sister Gjikaj"

"My instincts tell me to eat nutella..."

"I want to try the black pudding... because it is the traditional for the English.. and I can just vomit later" -Sister Gjikaj
