MANCHESTAHHH
I just love it here! I love living in a four sister flat! We have so much fun together! Even though we only really see each other in the morning during studies and at night when we are all together it is such a blast sharing our stories and miracles and just getting to know each other better. I love my mission!!!
And Sister Gjikaj is a super good cook...
Awkward Moments...
What do you get when you put an Albanian, German, a Yankee, and a Southerner all in one flat?
Well, hopefully I will actually get to come up with a good pick up line... but for now it's just a bunch of awkward and funny moments. Truly, I feel so multicultural. Who knew that you could travel the world and see experience other cultures without having to actually get on any buses, trains, planes, or cars?
So this one time we were walking and we had to move because this man was roller skating backwards down Oxford road. Don't see that every day.
This one time we met a man who told us that he doesn't believe in organised religion. Ok, fair enough. Until he told us that money was organised religion.
So wait, how do you live?
I trade things.
What do you trade?
Things.
Oh. Ok. Well, do you have a phone?
Yes.
How do you pay for it?
Someone else does.
So... doesn't it take money? Or do phone companies accept traded goods too...?
We don't need money. It's just paper and you are all crazy! You need to step outside of this world and live in reality! You're all brainwashed!
Well, his name was Jo. He was quite pleasant actually.
And then we met another man named Dennis. he tried to convince us that we could talk to other planets in the purlioligio system... don't ask me how to pronounce it because I thought he sneezed the first time. He was interesting as well.
But they're all super nice people! Seriously, I love living in Manchester so much
Miracles and Such
Wow. I have never taught so much in one week! There are so many people are just being prepared to hear the gospel! We had 5 investigators at church yesterday and they all loved it! Two were girls from china here to study and we had met them on Saturday and then invited them to church! They both came and not only did they stay for the three hours but we had a munch and mingle afterwards too and they loved it! It was enchiladas :) Little taste of home, really.
We're also teaching a man named Pedro and when he was first found on the street he was in a tricky situation. He was looking for a place to live, a job, and well, friends! He had just come from Portugal and was so kind! And we have met with him like 3 times a week! And now, he has flat in manchester, job interviews and the YSA ward are all becoming good friends with him!
All of the lessons we've taught this week have really taught ME so much. I feel like I am learning and growing so much every day.
