A Front Row Seat

Usually, when you go the movie theaters, or I guess the Cinemas as they say over here... the absolute worst seats to get are the ones in the very front row.

Your head is tilted at an uncomfortable and awkward angle, the screen is just too big and you have to move your head side to side in order to not miss anything and well, it's just over all uncomfortable and it could take you a few days to fully recover.

Well, I'd like to share with you my thoughts, because as a missionary, we're given the front row seats to the greatest work in the world. You're constantly changing your position, stretching your neck, and having to keep up with the action in front of you. Just when you get comfortable the scene changes and suddenly you're having to shift positions once again.

This is the greatest work in the world. Because it is God's work. To bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

I couldn't have a better seat than this.

The past few weeks have been pretty crazy in terms of moving around and having just a few more added responsibilities on my plate. Speaking of plates...

Why couldn't the Nephites eat their dinner??

Because Moroni buried the plates :)

Sorry, but I had to.

Anyway, the past few weeks have taught me a lot more about this work and the potential that we all have. I feel like at this point in my mission I've gained some momentum and am able to recognize my weaknesses a lot faster and work to change them and myself to become more like my Savior. And I am so grateful for that! As of today, I've been set apart as a missionary for 13 months! I can't believe how time has flown.

Well, one of the added responsibilities I've been given is to look after the Sister Missionaries in my area. There are about 20 of them and I love them all so much! We also organize exchanges with them :) And this past week we went on exchanges with the Sisters in Rhyl! AAANNNDDDDD I got to go to Rhyl! WOOO! Here I come Wales!! I was super stoked. But obviously it wouldn't be a true first exchange as a Sister Training Leader if I didn't mess it up in some way... haha

So we drove down to meet the sisters in Chester and because Sister Christensen was driving I had the phone on me.

We hopped out, exchanged and then Sister Larsen and I went to go and catch our train back to Rhyl. We were looking at the train times and I was getting confused (from the lack of rhyl being a destination) so I suggested we call train tracker. Which is an automated voice giving train times and so on... which is completely unrelated to my story haha

ANYWAY.

We both reach into our pockets to call and then realize that we both have phones. That probably sounds pretty normal to most of you... BUT. There should only be one phone per companionship. Which means that one of us has a phone we shouldn't.

That's me! haha

SHOOT. The other sisters are driving back without a phone. Which is like death for a missionary... but we have absolutely no way to contact them and it would take them an hour to get back.

But, I'm like the queen of not stressing, so what do I do? Well, we call train tracker and then we catch a train of course :) haha I called a member who usually goes out with us and I told her to go to our flat in about an hour and that the sisters would be ecstatic to see her. I didn't really tell her why of course... I left that part out :)

But! Suffice it to say... the exchange was brilliant. I loved getting to see Rhyl and wokring with Sister Larsen. She's an incredible missionary even though she's only been out for 2 months!

But it feels nice to be back in Newcastle. I love driving the car.. but man, travelling just wears you out sometimes!

Quotes of the week

"Robyn..? Why do you call it Robyn? How is this one called? Diane?!" ~Sister Lunden

"Someone's a few fries short of a happy meal..." ~Ben Wiles

"Basically, I taught people how not to be fat. But then I came on a mission and got fat so that was pointless.." ~nameless

Also, sometimes you just don't know what to eat. You all know what I'm talking about. But have you ever just thought of individual things that sound good and then just put them all on a plate and eaten them? That sentence probably had a lot of grammatical errors but don't judge me.

Anyway. I ate a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich and I just really wanted some cheese too. So I ate cheese too. Is that weird? I don't know. My companion looked pretty disgusted though.

Anyway, this week we have two exchanges so I'll tell you about those next week!! And some other thigns too.. probably..

Much love!

Sister Reed
