Monkey See, Monkey...not there?

Ugh. For starters... I cannot believe how fast the time is flying! And the fact that I have less than a month left as a 21 year old... lame. I'm getting old!!

Also, I know I promised pictures of us at the monkey forest BUT... by the time we got there apparently the monkeys were all going to bed. DOUBLE LAME.

So the pictures that I have attached are us just wandering around the place... and climbing this obnoxiously big mountain to get to a statue. The view was pretty great though!

We've found some truly incredible people this week. Although we had some appointments fall through, we also had appointments that we weren't confident about actually happen! One of them was with a man named Richard whom we met in the park and set up an appointment two days later. We asked him where he would like to meet and he laughed and pointed at a park bench. We asked if we could exchange numbers and he told us that he doesn't like to use a phone. So, we set the appointment and prayed that he might stick to it! Well, yesterday we drove up to the park and started our walk towards the bench he had specified to. We were at the bottom of the hill and all we could see were two men sitting and chatting. As we got closer we realised it was Richard!! As we approached we waved and hurried over. Richard had even invited his friend Wayne to join in! We began teaching them the Restoration very basically and then set up another appointment for them to come to our chapel on Tuesday! We are so excited!!!

Another one is with a young man whom we met on our way to a tea appointment. We had arrived a few minutes early and had decided to tract a few doors on the next street over. The first 4-5 doors weren't interested or weren't in. But the last door we tracted on a young boy answered about 16 or 17 and told us his mom wasn't home yet but if we wanted to we can share with him whatever we wanted to say. Surprised we just carried on! We told him who we were and that we believed in eternal families and that God has prepared a way for that to be. And He has revealed that plan to prophets and in the Bible as well as in the Book of Mormon. At this point the young boy was a bit emotional and shared with us that he had just recently lost his dad and he hoped above all else that he would see him again.

We shared Alma 40:23 and he was beaming by the end of it! We set up another appointment, he offered us some cakes he just made, and then we offered him a copy of the Book of Mormon. His eyes widened and he took the book.. nodding his head he just muttered a thank you and then clasped it closer to him and looked me in the eyes, "thank you, I'll treasure this".

We are teaching him tonight! With the members who live around the corner from him. I am so excited for Fraser!!! And for him to discover the truth and reality of him being with his father again.

There is so much happening here and I always struggle trying to find out what to write each week!! But things are heating up over here.. and there are so many good things happening. I can't believe how fast the time is going. Skyping home was amazing and I loved being able to see my family! But it was also bittersweet knowing that the next time I see them will be in person. Time is escaping me!

BUT! I hope you are all happy, healthy, and experiencing the daily miracles!

THE CHURCH IS TRUE AND THE BOOK IS BLUE.

Know it, live it, love it!

Love,

Sister Reed
